Kiribas not waiting

Pacific Parliamentarians Assembly on Population and Development (PPAPD) and Forum of Presiding Officers and Clerks (FPOC) stand united against World countries causing global warming impacts on low lying atolls like Kiribati.
As the island of Kiribati is slowly captured by the rising sea levels, the need for President Anote Tong to retain their cultural identity is secondary to saving the lives of his people from downing. It is no longer a choice but a necessity to relocate the people of Kiribati.
Although President of Kiribati, Anote Tong confronted World leaders to act and take responsibility to reduce their emissions in Geneva, it is clear that a commitment towards reducing such emissions is yet to come and President Tong cannot afford to wait for such a response.
In the meantime, President Tong has planned a slow evacuation from Kiribati by training up the people of Kiribati in various occupations such as nursing, engineering etc that they can take with them in anticipation of them being relocated abroad.
For the people of Manihiki, Aitutaki and other low lying atolls in the Cook Islands, there is much for the Cook Islands Government and its people to learn and get it prepared for a possible relocation.
