Condoms, KY Jelly missing

An Audit Office stock take report for June 2009 on the Ministry of Health revealed nearly 15,000 condoms were missing from the Tupapa Pharmacy.
The report is in Part 2 of Audit’s first quarter report 1 July 2009 to 30 September 2009 tabled in Parliament on Monday 23 November 2009 by Audit’s Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Sir Terepai Maoate who is also Minister for Health.
No questions were raised in Parliament as to the whereabouts of the missing condoms. Before you suspect hospital staff may use these condoms as balloons to decorate their Christmas tree, their disappearance is thought by the Assistant Pharmacist to be due to Public Health Nurses taking them and not recording the fact.
Oddly, along with the missing condoms came mention of 576 missing 100g units of KY Jelly from the Hospital Pharmacy.
Audit also found a variance between stock lists and stock on hand at the two pharmacies.
For example;
Cefaclor capsules: variance of 36,775 cannot be explained.
Paracetamol: variance of 4,862 cannot be explained.
Flucloxacillin 125mg syrup: variance 9,983 cannot be explained.
Dyoxycycline 100mg capsules: variance of 3,600 cannot be explained.
