Rags to Riches Christmas Party with Cook Islands Tours
When the invitation came from Temu Okotai to attend their Rags to Riches Christmas party last week, we knew it would be a fun evening. The Muri crowd were picked up in an air conditioned bus with Serena Hunter greeting us all with an ei and a bottle of chilled water to cool down as we picked up more guests along the way till we got to the Vaima’anga beach house where Rohan and Adriane Ellis live.
Most of the ladies chose the riches theme and looked absolutely gorgeous, with one even wearing a fun tiara whereas most men dressed as ragamuffins with a heathen or two for good measure.
Cook Islands Tours is a business venture between Temu and Rohan Ellis and the party was to thank all their supporters in the accommodation and tourism industry for all their help in bringing clients their way. The band played all night while guests were supposed to eat dainty portions of katikati all night, but as usual we had enormous portions and could hardly fit in the other dishes that were served later.
The finale was the performance by the new dance troupe under the guidance of Adriane who comes from the Turepu and Clarke family to the accompaniment of the rutu pau from their musicians led by Charlie Hosking married to the lovely Mary de Luze.
Congratulations to Cook Islands Tours for a great Christmas party and we promise to be back next year for your next celebration.
