The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa congratulates Mila Engu for achieving her American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute Diploma in Hospitality Management.
The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute of the United States has offered distance learning courses in hospitality management for more than 50 years in approximately 115 countries. The goals of this program include;
- To provide hospitality employees with a convenient way to increase their industry knowledge and skills,
- To assist in the development of a qualified workforce that is prepared to handle the challenges of today’s fast-changing hospitality industry.
- To prepare hospitality workers for career advancement and offer opportunities for professional growth and development.
The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa offers the American Hotel & Lodging Education Institute distance learning courses for all its employees. This represents an opportunity for staff to invest in their own professional development while continuing to build their experience in the Hotel Industry. The AH&LEI Diplomas are recognized around the world.
There are 58 active students that are currently registered and participation in the program, while encouraged and supported, is a personal decision for the staff member to make in their own long term professional development.
Miss Engu, a full time employee and also an Executive Housekeeper, set a goal 9 months ago to complete her Diploma by December 31st 2009. Not only did she complete well before her target, she also completed her Areas of Specialisation in Rooms Division Management, Human Resources Management and Food & Beverage Management along the way.
3 more students are set to complete their Diploma’s by the end of December.
Fantastic Effort Mila! We are proud of you.
