Rain causes blockage

On Tuesday from 8am to about 9am, residents along the main road around the Turangi area and towards Tupapa experienced a short water shutdown without any prior notice. The Department of Waterworks turned off the water at the Turangu intake for they were busy cleaning it up which will continue for another couple of weeks. There have been reports of either water being blocked or the pressure of the water being low and this is due to the debris in the river which causes the blockage. Therefore the Waterworks division have been hard at work to clear up the debris to insure that water reaches every home and no future blockage.
