Cook Islands’ students receive CFTC awards
Five Cook Islands students have received Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation (CFTC) awards under the Professional Development Programme for the Pacific for 2010 offered by the Commonwealth Secretariat.
The students are; Diane Puna, Nga Puna, Anne Herman, Alex Henry and Ngatuaine Maui.
The five Master of Business Administration students are all in their final year of a two year programme at the University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Cook Islands campus and the CFTC awards will assist the students with their tuition and text book fees.
The awards are offered on merit and takes account of the proposed study to the home country’s development needs and CFTC’s strategic areas in the following sectors; Public Sector Development, Governance and Small Island States Development.
The Cook Islands Government and students are grateful to the Commonwealth Secretariat in providing awards to assist not only the Cook Islands with the development of the nation’s human resources capacity but also Cook Islanders in their pursuit of higher education.
