Pacific Arts Council to meet
The Cook Islands will be among 23 countries and territories attending the 23rd meeting of the Council of Pacific Arts (CPA) which will take place in Noumea from 23-25 March 2010. The meeting will focus on preparations for the 11th Festival of Pacific Arts to be held in the Solomon Islands in 2012 and on raising the profile of culture.
Agenda items include; preparations, intellectual property issues, strengthening the cultural sector, developing a culture and education strategy and accessing funds for culture. The meeting will be followed by a Cultural Policy Workshop 25-27 March aimed at providing guidelines to delegates on the cultural mapping, planning and policy process. - CP
