Call to Minister sees road fixed

One phone call from a frustrated resident to the office of the Minister for Infrastructure, and the next day the job’s completed!
It had taken just one day for Minister William Heather to accomplish what residents had tried for years to get local MP John Tangi to do.
That job was to fix the numerous potholes and the dip in Arai te Tonga, a side road that runs from the main road opposite the O’Oa shop to the old marae on the back road. At times this short road has had up to 40 potholes. One section dips and after heavy rain is flooded (see photo).
The Minister is to be thanked for his speedy attention to the problem.
