Boxing: Eddie’s doing well

Cook Islands boxer Eddie Daniel is doing well at his new club in Sydney Australia. Daniel has been with the Paramatta Club for three months and has won his last three middleweight (75kg) bouts. His most recent win was last week when former President of the Cook Islands Amateur Boxing Association (CIABA) Adi Narayan happened to attend the 12 bout tournament and saw Daniel in action. After the bout he spoke to Daniel who said he was pleased with the regular competition. Daniel said he had not had any contact with CIABA but said he was keen to represent the Cook Islands again. Daniel last represented the Cook Islands at the Pacific Mini games last year. His trainer told Narayan that Daniel was a rising star. Several other Pacific islanders are also training at the club. Back home Daniel trained hard but he was starved of good, frequent competition.
