Lagoon Day kicks off National Environment Week 2010
Hosted again by Muri (at Nukupure Park), Lagoon Day (May 27-28) will have numerous information and demonstration booths providing ‘solutions’ or best practice methods to environment protection.
There have been many developments happening and the feedback has been that people are still unsure of the procedures and best practices that are available. The National Environment Service is dedicated this year to providing the community through this field-day the information needed. There will be take-away brochures on slope/hillside, wetland and foreshore development and procedures which will be beneficial to everyone. And if you have ANY questions regarding your development plans, do not hesitate to ask the team who will be stationed at the booth.
Some businesses/service providers will also be promoting and having discounts on their environmentally-friendly products and services during Lagoon Day and throughout Environment Week.
Environment Week art competitions will be showcased and judged during Environment Week from Monday 31st May to Friday 4th June.
