Major conferences coming up

USP Cook Islands will host two international conferences in the week following the Te Maeva Nui Cultural Celebrations. The International Symposium of the Pacific Arts Association will be held from the 9th – 11th of August, then from the 12-13th August, the conference will be jointly hosted by USP Cook Islands and the Cook Islands Research Association. Papers are being called to celebrate the life and work of the late Papa Ron Crocombe that reflect on Papa Ron’s contributions to the study of the Pacific. A selection of papers that will be presented to the conference is understood to be published as a Festschrift and will also include a list of academic colleagues and friends who wish to recall or honour Papa Ron’s public and academic life.
