Lorrayne Rani graduates

Cook Islander Lorrayne Rani was among 10 other Cook Islanders to graduate from the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) on Tuesday 25 may 2010 in a ceremony held at the Telstra Clear Events Centre in Manukau City.
A total of 1,091 students from different countries graduated.
There were 10 other CI graduates

Wesley Lyle Smith - Bachelor of Business Marketing Management
June Tangi Tuake - Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching
Tangi Teremoana - Bachelor of Aducation (UOFAK) - (dont know what this is??
Maima Joseph - Bachelor of Nursing
Denise Margret Ann Pirangi - Bachelor of Nursing
Jackson Brown - Bachelor of Visual Arts
Bejamin Glassie - Bachelor of Science
Charles Amaru Koronui - Graduate Diploma in Marketing.
Lorrayne initially moved into a Nursing career after the limited “nursing care” she provided her Mum and Dad when they were admitted to Auckland hospital for treatment. Her Mum passed away in her home in Auckland, her Dad in the hospital. She felt she could have done more than what she did.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing degree, she is now aiming towards her Postgradute Certificate in Clinical Practise starting in July 2010. Eventually, her aim is to complete her Master of Nursing in a specialised field, such as Chronic Care Management, conduct research on how to better manage and educate Pacific people on diseases prevelant among Pacific islanders like diabetes, HB pressures, obesity, gout, and particularly cancer.
Lorrayne has been officially recognized as a NZ Registered Nurse at a Medal Pinning ceremony that was held in early Feb2010 after passing her exams.
Lorrayne strongly encourages all families and friends to provide all the support they can towards CI students at higher learning institutions and says she was blessed to have her family and friends supporting her. Lorrayne and the other graduates give their love and a big meitaki maata to all the families and friends both in NZ and in CI for their support.
