H1N1 Vaccine – Is It A Global Fraud?
Dear Editor,
Concerned parents on Rarotonga this week have questioned whether enough has been done to educate and put in place, safeguards against potential health risks to recipients of the H1N1vaccine currently being administered throughout the Cook Islands. Last week saw the beginning of the first vaccination program mainly amongst schoolchildren but within days, many children thought to have received the vaccine were showing symptoms of the flu, skin rash and other irritable symptoms including dry raspy coughing and vomiting.
Parents whose children sought treatment at the outpatients department at the hospital were advised that the sudden cold snap experienced over the last few days has been a contributing factor to the flu like symptoms and there was really nothing to worry about and that the vaccine was safe.
Some parents spoken to dispute this advice and are angry that the Cook Islands Ministry of Health may not be fully aware nor being honest to the public as to the side effects of the H1N1 vaccine, opting instead to rely on an advisory issued by the World Health Organization that this was part of the global pandemic approach to addressing the H1N1 or commonly referred to as the “swine flu” issue.
It has also surfaced that some children may have been forced into taking the vaccine without their parents consent or authority. If that is the case, then this is considered a serious breach by the teacher, the school concerned as well as health officials who knowingly went against the wishes of the parents and continued to administer the vaccine. Ironically, children who did not take the vaccine were not prone to the flu like symptoms however, the unreliability of this assumption is yet to be tested.
What is also more concerning is the revelation as to the alarming trend from other countries around the world who are refusing to accept the vaccine and are now withdrawing from its use, claiming its side effects have resulted in many suspicious deaths forcing these countries to terminate the vaccination program.
Documentary evidence sighted from an array of e-mails circulating the globe, confirm that the H1N1 vaccine is considered ineffective and has been fabricated by giant pharmaceutical companies to entice governments to buy their drugs in a bid to make what is estimated to be worth billions of dollars.
Documents sighted also show that there has not been enough scientific evidence or research to substantiate the claim that the vaccine is effective or safe. The pandemic scare which rattled the world several years ago is now considered an absolute fraud involving politicians, business people and pharmaceutical manufacturers and embarrassed governments globally are now pursuing these fraudsters in their quest to bring them to justice.
During the recent Health Conference held in the Cook Islands last week, the issue was informally raised with several visiting health experts who advised that although they were aware that there was some controversy surrounding the vaccine, they were concerned to see that the vaccination program was proceeding throughout the Pacific without proper research, data analysis and confirmation. In fact, several of these experts were quite surprised to hear that the program had already started in the Cook Islands and were even more alarmed to hear that nothing has been done about it from within their own countries that they were aware of to issue caution and warnings over its use.
Who will take responsibility should things go wrong and on the remotest of possibilities, an innocent child or adult should die in this country because of our own ignorance to a problem that we know exists but failed to do anything about. A follow up story on this controversy will follow in the near future.

Editor’s note:
The Herald contacted Public Health on Wednesday morning to speak to Director of Community Health Dr Rangi Fariu however he is overseas at a Health Conference. Dr Fariu had appeared on CITV News recently to assure parents the vaccine was safe. It was not the same vaccine which had caused problems in Australia where a death had occurred. He did mention there may be some side affects. A copy of this letter has been forwarded to Public Health and they have indicated comments are welcomed from parents.
