Business workshops underway
On Tuesday 27th July two workshops were held at the Parekura Conference Centre on “How to manage efficiently and profitably a Car and Motor Bike Service and Maintenance Workshop and Internet Marketing’’ The workshops started at 8:30am and will finish at 4:00pm. These Workshops are to assist small to medium sized companies who currently carry out servicing and repairing of cars and motor bikes employing a single mechanic to a number of employees. The workshops will go for three days from Tuesday until Thursday and there were about ten people in attendance.
Australian business advisor Allan Cann says that his job was to go into businesses and help them do better or look for weaknesses and opportunities to improve their business. There are four business advisors from Australia; Shirley and Allan Cann, Andrew Nuske and Greg Veal. They are funded by the Australian Government and they are part of the BTIB organised Rarotongan business Workshops initiative.
Tomorrow’s workshop will be on ‘’ Financial Record Keeping and Office Administration’’ which is for helping medium sized business to develop appropriate office procedures in order that the business runs efficiently. The workshop will cover topics including filing systems, office methods, manuals and computerised bookkeeping.
Ake Enua 16 yrs, is a year 11 student from Mauke College who came to Rarotonga for the Careers Expo and is spending time with Pitt media Group on work experience.
