Cook Islands Olympic Handball Team Dinner and Auction Fundraiser 2010
Our Cook Islands under 18 men’s handball team have made it to the first ever Youth Olympics to be held in Singapore from the 14th to 24th August 2010. This auspicious occasion is all about excellence, respect and friendship.
Winning a placing in the Youth Olympics is everyone’s dream but for team Cook Islands handball under 18 men’s team it is a gold medal in itself. The journey which began in the front lawn of “Mama Keu’s” home in the village of Avatiu has flourished and persevered through many fundraising activities to get it to an Olympian level of entry.
In acknowledgement of such an Olympian level of achievement, the management, parents and supporters of Team Cook Islands handball have organized a dinner and auction fundraiser with the theme ‘E Po Maeva’ to be held at the Ngatangiia HTTC School on the 7th August 2010 with a 6pm start dining time until 8.30pm. The nation is encouraged to come and support our first Olympians by purchasing a dinner and auction ticket for only $50.00 from Mr Shawnrowan Fatialofa on 74911.
The fundraising event has drawn much support and sponsorship due to the Olympian level achieved by Team Cook Islands Handball. Such support includes the use of the Ngatangiia HTTC school, kitchen and their Internationally ranked Chef ‘Sam’. His international experience will be on display as he brings out the five course meal to the anticipated 150 dinning guests. He has guaranteed those purchasing the $50 dinner ticket a meal of fine dining, on time and with a touch and dash of Cook Islands flavor.
The fundraising night is set to be a memorable night with Team Cook Islands Handball men serving the dining guests and then beginning their auction of beautiful artifacts, paintings and surprise items. So do bring your cash, cheque books and be ready to take up some of those auctioning pieces and be known for being an active supporter of the first Cook Islands Olympic Handball team of 2010.
