Two committees to meet after candidate run off
Sean Willis, President of the Democratic Party advised the Herald late on Tuesday afternoon that the Central Executive Committee at its meeting earlier that afternoon had agreed not to intervene in the candidate run off organized by the interim Ngatangiia Committee for Wednesday evening. Instead, it was agreed that after the candidate has been selected through the run-off, that candidate and the Interim Committee will hold discussions with Sir Terepai Maoate and the Ngatangiia Committee to resolve their differences and agree on how to move forward.
On Monday evening The Central Executive Committee met and confirmed they did not support the new Interim Committee calling for a run off to determine the candidate for Ngatangiia.
Willis said work commitments prevented him from attending that meeting which is why he asked the Executive to meet again on Tuesday afternoon.
