Sport: National Netball Squad selected
The national netball squad to represent the Cook Islands at this month’s Commonwealth Games is into its final training programme designed to increase their intensity and to increase their strength. Regular reports on their training regime and eating plans are being received by the team’s manager, Lyn Hagai on a weekly basis. Currently, the 300 club raffle which was postponed last weekend will be drawn next Saturday and goes towards the teams costs to the Delhi Commonwealth Games.
The national team was named last weekend, where the three local girls traveled to Auckland for the final training camp and the naming of the squad. The team departs for India on the 26th September.

The national netball side is currently in Pool B and will play New Zealand on day 2 of the games, Barbados on day 3, England on day 5, PNG on day 6 and South Africa on day 7.
