Zumba training hits the Cook Islands for the first time
For the first time, a Zumba® Fitness Basic 1 Instructor Training session will take place in the Cook Islands on Saturday September 17 providing the first locally-based opportunity to become a licensed Zumba® Instructor.
The one-day training will be held at Top Shape Gym in Rarotonga and will be led by Maria Teresa Stone, one of Australia’s top Zumba Education Specialists.
The course covers the foundation and formula to teach a Zumba class, including the steps to the four basic rhythms (merengue, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton), the important warm-up and cool down phases and all of the tools and resources you will need to create fun, effective and safe classes for students.
Maria Teresa Stone said she was very excited about presenting the first training session in the Cook Islands.
“It’s a great chance for local, aspiring first-time instructors to access the tools and training they need to become a Zumba Instructor, without having to travel outside of the Islands to do so,” she said.
“Zumba is truly expanding into every corner of the globe and you can now take a class in more than 110 countries. Anyone can become an instructor with the knowledge and tools provided through training sessions like these, and through ongoing training and the support of the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™). By joining ZIN you tap into a valuable, ongoing education program – you never stop learning ways to improve your classes to keep regular students engaged and attract new students.
“Being a licensed Zumba Instructor comes with many benefits and enables people to help others who want to change their life and improve their fitness through regular Zumba classes. You can also be assured you’re supported in a great career opportunity as Zumba Fitness is committed to investing heavily in marketing and promotional initiatives to drive people to classes.”
Anyone interested in becoming a Zumba Instructor must attend a Zumba Instructor Training course and keep their instructor license current through a variety of courses offered by the Zumba Academy, or by joining the Zumba Instructor Network.
