Raemaru sparring

A very wet Monday evening did not deter six young men from attending the boxing training at Raemaru Park in Arorangi.
It’s in the club building that training takes place three days a week, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning at 5pm.
Trainers Tom Marsters, Emile Cowan and Australian Kick Boxer Mark Kowalewycz put the young men through a rigorous session of exercises and sparring which included some kick boxing exercises under Mark’s guidance.
Set up on the concrete ground floor of the building are two large punch bags and a speed ball. While there is no ring and the lighting could be better, there is space to move around.
All the necessary equipment is on hand with gloves, punch pads, skipping ropes.
The youngsters are keen and follow the instructions of the trainers.
