Selectors name same team for next Test
CIP delegates return Henry Puna as CIP Leader and the same Executive team will take the field again.
On Thursday afternoon of the second and final day, the Cook Islands Party (CIP) conference concluded at the Assembly of God Church Hall in Takuvaine with the 62 delegates electing their Executive Office bearers.
It appears the delegates still have faith in the same players and they have returned the same members to the Executive. Like the All Blacks, the CIP selectors have steered away from wholesale changes. The public now wait to see what new moves the CIP squad can produce to counter the Champion Demo team.
The selectors have chosen three new players. There is a new position of Assistant Treasurer which was filled by Jonah Tisam and the previously vacant positions of Director of Finance and Director of Development were filled by Stuart Henry and Robert Graham respectively.
There was a 100 per cent turn out of delegates and it was a positive conference. The Party’s Constitution which had been reviewed was adopted and there will be a 30 day waiting period before it takes affect.
The Party’s policy framework is still being refined and will be announced at a later date.
Party Leader Henry Puna was returned following a vote between himself and Akaoa MP Teariki Heather.
Atiu MP Norman George was not present.
