Update on Aitutaki Properties
Stephen Doherty of Island Hopper Vacations has advised that the damage is largely to the residential homes on Aitutaki with most resorts suffering minimal damage.
Thomas Koteka of Pacific Resort has advised that the resort is operational and has only suffered landscape damage and is in the process of clean up.
Tata Crocombe reported that the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa has lost part of its beachfront restaurant
Tamanu Beach- Hotel is operational. Many trees down and big clean up underway but all bungalows and restaurant have not sustained damage. They served breakfast lunch and dinner yesterday from their restaurant but only have standby generator power so limits their operation
Rumours Aitutaki- they evacuated guests back to Rarotonga and will not be taking any more
over the next few days mostly due to water damage and clean up. Minor structural damage but nothing too serious and have sent carpenters from Rarotonga to assess and assist with the repairs. Hopefully will be back in business next week sometime all going well.
Any queries for hotels are to be directed to them or their NZ representatives.
