Agriculture project on track
Despite minor delays because of the recent cyclones, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture, Hon Robert Wigmore confirmed on Friday morning that the project to revitalize agriculture in the southern group is still on track. Secretary for Agriculture Anthony brown advised that the Assessment team lead by William Wigmore had returned from a week in Mauke conducting assessments and on Monday will leave for Atiu where it will spend a week. In two weeks time the team will visit Mangaia. The team will not be visiting Mitiaro as their assessment will be conducted by a local team. Brown said the groundwork had to be completed by March so the project can begin the implementation phase by mid-April. Wigmore confirmed the funding was unaffected.
