Political Whispers
Marathon meeting
Whisper is the Demos held a meeting at Aunty Mau’s place at 1pm on Wednesday. The meeting it is whispered, went for four hours. The big three were there-Makirere Poila, Makiuti Tongia and Sam Crocombe.
Call to come home
Whisper is the Demos met again at Aunty Mau’s place on Thursday. It was to call the three members on Jim’s side to return to the fold. The Demos are eager to get Wigmore back as some especially in Titikaveka now see Wigmore as the next Prime Minister.
Holding the balance
The Demos must be getting desperate because they know from past history that a third political party holding just five seats will hold the balance of power and dictate terms. Whisper is the tight five under Jim need only form a new Party and win their seats to hold the balance of power.
Coming to see for himself
Whisper is NZ Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully is to visit Aitutaki next week to see the damage for himself but more particularly to see where the aid money will be spent.
