Changes to next Miss South Pacific Pageant

The Miss South Pacific pageant is to undergo some major changes when it is held in Fiji next year - all of which will see a significant improvement to the way the competition is currently run.
“The Miss South Pacific format will be changed and presented over three nights instead of one,” says Miss Cook Islands Pageant Association (MCIPA) President Ben Bergman. “This promises to lift the standard to a very high level as contestants will not be as pressured on the night.”
Bergman says that Fiji put forward an impressive bid which showed that they were very passionate about pageants of this nature, and would add considerable flair and experience to it.
Over the next few weeks Bergman says that the MCIPA committee will hold a meeting to discuss the Fiji pageant, as well as start planning the next Miss Cook Islands pageant which is scheduled for June 13th 2009 as well as participation at the Miss Earth pageant.
With regards to this year’s pageant Bergman says that the competition was of a very high standard, and according to the chaperones and board members it was impressive and the toughest yet. Anne’s presentation overall was fantastic.
“Anne bought the house down with her talent and she looked stunning in her National Costume and Sarong. Anne did all that we asked of her and was a pleasure to work with. The Cook Islands can be very proud of her. I was also impressed with the untiring efforts of chaperones Gina Keenan-Williams and Clee Marsters.”
Anne placed 2nd runner up in the competition held in American Samoa last Friday. She arrived back home on Tuesday.
The next pageant is to be held in Suva, in 2010 in Papua New Guinea, and in 2011 in the Solomon Islands.
