The loo with a view

The toilet for use by disabled people located on the ground floor of the new Police Headquarters has one distinctive feature. A floor to ceiling plate glass window that enables the public to look in and the occupant to view passersby.
Any disabled person using the “loo” does so in full view of the occupants of the Bank of Cook Islands Building, clients of the rental vehicle company next door and the owner of the neighbouring property, Lorna Warren.
A wooden fence has been erected along this side of the Police building but it does not extend far enough to conceal the loo from public view.
The Policeman who acts as liaison officer to the Chinese construction company, Inspector John Strickland, told the Times that blinds will soon be installed to ensure the privacy of users. An “out of order” sign has been placed on the door to the loo. However, it remains unlocked and still usable.
Neighbour Lorna Warren told the Times she was concerned that her property along the fence line had not been fully restored to its original state by the Chinese builders. The front half of her section has been smoothed out along the fence line but not the back part. (See photo).
Inspector Strickland told the Times it was not possible to use the machinery in the narrow gap between the house and the fence. However, it was pointed out that several wheel barrow loads of soil and a rake would fix the area. Strickland said he would see what he could do to rectify the area.
