Tepaki Group committed to Maeva Nui sponsorship
Developer Tim Tepaki has responded to public concerns about his intention to sponsor the Maeva Nui event amid reports staff are allegedly not being paid wages.
“We are paying wages,” Tepaki told the Times on Thursday.
Tepaki said it was mischief making to link Kia Orana Group’s management issues relating to the boutique hotels with Tepaki Group HO.
He said it was a Tepaki Group Head Office initiative to sponsor the Maeva Nui not the Kia Orana Group.
“Tepaki Group HO is still committed to the Maeva Nui,” said Tepaki,” because it is about our people and celebrating our successes.”
Tepaki group HO put up sponsorship of $25,000 last year but at the time did not commit to the same amount this year. Tepaki explained the Group undertook to commit to a second year with the amount to be confirmed closer to the date.
