Baby Julie with staff from The Rarotongan
Beach
Resort and Spa...
What was supposed to be a normal day’s work for the staff at the Rarotongan Beach Resort and Spa turned into a mission to help the birth of a baby in one of the beachfront rooms.
Dale and Jenny Davenport, from Auckland originally booked a holiday for a little relaxation BEFORE the birth of their first baby.
They planed to stay at The Rarotongan Beach Resort and Spa and then go on to the sister resort, The Aitutaki Lagoon Beach Resort and Spa.
SURPRISE
Jenny was not due to give birth for another month. But baby Julie had other plans and decided to make a surprise entrance to share in the Cook Island festivities with her parents.
There was total surprise at the resort when on Wednesday 18th October at 5.20pm Jenny went into labour.
Father Dale took on the role of deliveryman, with the help of a security guard and some of the front office staff.
The whole event took only 25 minutes.
THANKS
The proud parents thanked the staff at the resort for their kindness and tremendous support. They had a special thanks for the security guard.
Although their holiday was cut short, they plan to re-visit Rarotonga when baby Julie is a little older. They want her to meet some of the kind and helpful people at the resort who helped her arrival in the world.
