Licensed restaurants and bars must keep to the rules

The onset of the festive season leading up to Christmas and New Year has led to some disgruntled neighbours complaining of some establishments going beyond their permitted licenses and an increase in the noise levels.
Chairman of the Liquor Licensing Authority, Superintendent Isamaela said that all licensed premises have ‘certain conditions of business’ and if not operating within their permit can lead to the closure of that bar or licensed restaurant.
After the permitted time, there is half an hour to have the place cleared and if on inspection, there are people on premises, they can only be workers cleaning the premises.
Is there any relaxing of the rules or perhaps where the proprietors are mistaken about the conditions of their licence? Superintendent was firm that they ‘can’t be mistaken’ as to ‘what to do and what not to do’ because it is ‘well spelt out’ in their licence.
There is ‘no room for mistake’ and if there are any such breaches, they can be reported to the Liquor Licensing Authority which can revoke their licence but added that each case is treated according to their merits.
