Maoate’s demands unreasonable, rejected
Sir Terepai Maoate has made demands on the Prime Minister, which are completely unreasonable and have been rejected outright. The demands to drop three ministers from their current jobs and hand them over to Sir Terepai and his supporters will not happen. It would be irresponsible for us to make any changes to Cabinet right now with the National Budget pending and so close to Elections.
New Team, New Future
As the Leader of the Democratic Party, and speaking on behalf of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, all our energies are being focused on the need to re-build the party, to establish a forward-looking programme of action, and concentrate on the work needed to compete effectively in the forthcoming general elections.
We cannot be distracted from our focus with unreasonable demands and negotiations. Our energy needs to be focused on the future of the party. We need to move forward, for a new future. Lets do this together! - DPM Office Media Release
