Response to media articles re Allsworth

I wish to respond and clarify recent articles in the media concerning my complaint regarding the Audit Director Paul Allsworth.
The Toagate Audit report has nothing to do with my complaints that is a separate issue, and will eventually run its course when Parliament sits. A clever diversion or smokescreen by the Audit Director Mr. Paul Allsworth to deflect the issue of my complaints. I have laid my complaints against him and provided evidence to these. It is up to the process now to determine whether there are breaches of his actions or not, both civil and criminal. And I hope justice prevails.
Mr. Paul Allsworth as the watchdog for Government should be above board at all times meaning he should be setting the example of the rules in Government because he tells Government these are the rules and penalizes if you do not follow them.
For the record I am still on island and have not left for Australia. So NO! to the cheap shot.
I am alarmed that the PSC Commissioner will be reviewing Paul Allsworth’s actions, as part of my complaint involves him. Is this a process where mates cover mates? This review should be carried out by an independent professional outside of the Cook Islands.
In Cook Islands News article of 2nd July 2010 Hon Wilkie Rasmussen stated that the Audit Director is a Public Servant. My reading of s21(2) of the PERCA Act 1995-96 would suggest otherwise, even reviewing the new Public Service Act 2009 does not spell out that the Audit Director is a public servant. He cannot be a Public Servant because he is suppose to be the one to monitor the Public Service and must be seen to be independent of the Public Service. Any termination or suspension of the Audit Direct is done by the Queen’s Representative on the advice of the Prime Minister after consultation with the PERC.
“No one is above the law, this was the right thing to do”, Again who audits AUDIT!!
