Master Chef here for Fundraiser
From being a student to opening a café in Ponsonby Auckland and then taking off overseas to widen his knowledge and experience as a Chef in the international arena is what Sam Timoko has achieved and willingly brought to the Cook Islands via the HTTC school in Ngatangiia.
He has worked in Los Angeles, Paris, Greece, and London where he settled for 10 years. He worked his way through the ranks in fine dining London Restaurants and has held executive Chef positions in the UK for the Compass group and Grosvenor Inns PLC and in an operational role with Dops Ltd a company set up to transform country inns in to London-style Gastro Pubs.
He has judged nationally and is a ‘master craftsman’ for the Craft Guild of Chefs, an English association he has been involved with whilst living in the UK and a master of the UK Culinary Academy that offers support, mentorship and training to UK chefs through education and training and provides it members as judges in competitions such as the Culinary Olympics –Germany, The Culinary World Cup – Luxembourg and Hotelympia – London.
With Sam Timoko’s wealth of experience and pizzazz in the international scene and arena of Chefing, he has volunteered his time to contribute towards the ‘E Po Maeva’ dinner and auction fundraising event for Team Cook Islands Handball scheduled to be held on the 7th August 2010 at the HTTC school in Ngatangiia. The fundraising event says Sam, is one way he is honoured to help out in bringing his support to the Cook Islands Youth attending the 1st Augural Youth Olympics being held in Singapore.
