Telecom donates $4000 in support of Red & Black Christchurch appeal

Telecom Cook Islands has shown its support by donating $4000 to Red Cross for the victims of the Christchurch earthquake appeal.
On Friday 4 March Telecom staff wore black and red in support of the Christchurch appeal, and donations raised by staff were matched dollar for dollar by Telecom. The Telecom Office in Penrhyn raised a whopping $517 in support of the appeal.
“On behalf of Red Cross management and staff, and Ronnie Siuelepu and Maureen Hilyare, I would like to give a big thank you to Telecom Cook Islands, for the huge contribution and great effort made in support of the Christchurch Red & Black appeal. We hope that other businesses will have the same feeling and show their support, and look forward to other events where we know we can depend on Telecom Cook Islands” said spokesperson for Red Cross Charlie Ngumanga.
The public were also invited to show their support by making a gold coin donation down at Teleshop. Every donation of $2 or more went in the draw to win a Telecom “phone of the month” pack containing 1 x Alcatel 606, 1 x sim card and a $20 top up card - congratulations Pauline Matai who was the lucky winner!
