Mario Faumui – from ‘FRESH’ visits the Pitt Media Group
Production Assistant and writer of the NZ TV series ‘Fresh’, Mario Faumui visited the Pitt Media Group family on Friday and is part of the 17 crew to film an international special on the last episode of ‘Fresh’ that’s screened on CITV. The all Pacific Island cast and crew include kiwi R’n’B band, Nesian Mystik.
Faumui says despite being on the island for about 24-hours he’s found the island and people to friendly and lives up to its standard for being “the place to be.”
The crew has visited Tereora College where they were giving away prizes and performed ‘polyskope’ which is the island version of a ‘horoscope’ but in a different sense and topped the college visit off with a performance by Nesian Mystik.
Before departing on Sunday, the team will be spending the day exploring the Rarotonga sights including, the Punanga Nui Market on Saturday morning.
Faumui says a lot of the inspiration on ‘polyskope’ originated from his ‘queen friends’ who use cold but not ‘sour’ remarks, and relates directly to the use of language that is spoken today by teenagers. In terms of ‘Fresh speaks’ which is what CITV viewers find most hilarious, Faumui says, the concept is used as an ice-breaker to the show.
Following an exclusive interview with CI Times, Faumui was then interviewed briefly on Radio Cook Islands.
