Two incidents linked to drugs
On Friday, Police advised they are following up on two incidents that are connected to drugs near the town area. In one case, police have seized a cannabis plant seedling, which was discovered by a resident in the Happy Valley area of Takuvaine and reported to police. The seedling is in an ice cream container and was located near a house in a bushy surrounding. Police say they took possession of the small plant and are investigating further.
In another case, police officers discovered drug utensils while conducting a search of a dwelling in Tutakimoa. Police were following leads in a matter connected to burglaries and found the utensils in possession of the people living there. The drug paraphernalia consists of a drink can turned into a homemade bong for smoking drugs.
Police say further investigations are being conducted today (Friday)with a view to charges being laid against one or more young men.
