Business Report: Reef Side Central
Popular Reef Side business operators Sharon and Simon Stott now have three outlets, one at the airport, one at Punanga Nui Market and now Reef Side Central in Cooks Corner.
Reef Side Central opened last Saturday but it will be officially opened next week Monday.
The Times spoke with Sharon and Simon on Friday.
Opening hours and days are Monday-Fri day 7.30am – 3.30pm and Saturday – 8am-2pm
New on the menu is the Fat Free Yoghurt Fruit Shake – for those customers who want to diet but enjoy a great tasting shake.
The Atiu coffee they get is a green bean which has been grown in a low altitude so it is not that strong. It is blended with high altitude beans from all over the world.
Simon will be bouncing between all three shops.
Simon and Sharon say the site has high exposure, it’s a great spot, similar to the market, where they let everyone else do the food and they do the drinks. It’s about sticking to what they’re good at.
Reef Side Central is where great drinks are serviced with great service.
While people wait for the bus they can try out the drinks.
Simon and Sharon will be getting their commercial grinder early next week which will be used to grind roasted beans for packing into vacuum bags. People can come and buy the beans and take them home.
“We are what we are because of the awesome staff we have,” said Sharon.
The ice mocha has also made a name for itself as being the hangover cure. “Last Friday night must have been a big party night because we had loads of locals coming in asking for the cure,” said Sharon.
“We are very passionate about making coffee,” said Sharon, “Making coffee is like owning a takeaway shop, you’re never gonna become a millionaire from it, you just do it because you love it.” Say’s Sharon.
