BBQ Fundraiser for Selina
The Times popped in to see Selina Napa, and her Democratic Party campaign team, who were in town this morning to deliver early lunches to island wide supporters.
Napa’s campaign is picking up momentum with her platform focusing on health, security and prosperity. “I am in the homes, listening to the voters. It’s plain and simple, we need to invest in healthy lifestyles, we need to give the entrepreneurs a boost, so that they can give our youth jobs and opportunities.”
“The current government spends far too much time overseas and not enough time passing legislation that will support us. Their spending is out of control and I aim to be in Parliament before the next budget is tabled so that I can hold them to account. I want to make sure that the Crimes Act gets reviewed and that spending cuts are delivered before tax increases.”
It seems that Napa, an advocate for youth issues, is determined to take her fresh faced brand of politics all the way to Parliament. You can call Sel on 54706 if you want to contact her to help with her fundraising efforts, or to register a team for her Quiz Night on Thursday, 7th June. -MAria Tanner
