Burglary reached tipping point for Vaimaanga resident
71 year old Vaimaanga resident Papa Tiare Brothers is “saddened” by the number of burglaries his Titikaveka home has endured with a number of his belongings going missing.
Papa Tiare Brothers reported to the Times on Thursday that this has been happening for the past 2 years, with things reaching the tipping point earlier this year when he was referred to New Zealand medical attention receiving an operation in May and then again in June.
While in New Zealand receiving medical care Papa Tiare Brothers had entrusted the minding of his property to his carer during the day between the hours of 7am to 5pm and believes that the thieves had calculated the times when the premises would be vacant and used that to their advantage to break and enter into his property and steal his belongings.
To date Papa Tiare Brothers has recorded a 17 cubic feet chest freezer, 14 pigs, 3 empty 20kg LPG gas cylinders, gas blower, 2 Japanese 6” and 8 “ blade skill saws and wheelbarrow stolen from his Vaimaanga home.
In an emotional interview Papa Tiare Brothers explained what a “big shock” it was for him to return home after his operation to find his home had been broken and entered, and has since reported this to Police. Documentation of the stolen belongings have been recorded and Police will further investigate Papa Tiare Brother’s situation.
