MAN IN NEED
Why Jeff, 57, is here looking for women
By Shona Pitt

Jeff....alias mustang man.

What makes a 57-year-old man come halfway around the world to find a woman? Curious over the advert that has been placed in the daily paper, I decided to track this guy down.
Born and raised in Canada, Jeff has lived there most of his life. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a public servant with the Canadian Federal Government.
A widower, he was married for 30 years and his wife died of cancer in 2003. Jeff said that his wife was a French Canadian and describes his marriage as wonderful and the most important part of my life.
His wife was ill for the last 13 years of their marriage.
The advert, he said, is part of a larger context. He and his wife travelled all over the world during their marriage and they had planed to live in the world when they retired. Unfortunately, she died and he couldn’t live out the idea with her.
“The plan was rather than take two weeks vacation we would live six months of the year overseas and six months home in Canada, but each year we would try a different destination,” Jeff said.
A self confessed romantic, he said that he loves being married and he loves women, and that all he wants is a woman he can idolise and cherish.
Sounds a bit needy to me!
NEEDY
Yes, he wholeheartedly agrees, he is a needy male. He is so needy that he has to have a woman with him and in his life. He also says that he understands that certain women don’t like to be crowded and that they like their space.
So, why the ads? Why doesn’t this guy just go out there and meet a woman in the normal way? And, why the restrictions and criteria?
ADVICE
I mean what does a 57-year-old male talk about with a 30-year-old? Fatherly advice?
Why does she have to be slim? So she can fit her ankles over his ears? Sounds a bit desperate and sexist to me.
Well, Jeff, has his preferences, and that is the type of woman he is attracted too.
For a start Jeff has tried all the normal ways of meeting women, bars, social clubs, blind dates and even the Internet. He has met a lot of women but not ‘the’ one.
He admits to being a serial advert placer, placing adverts in newspapers all over the world. He was in a relationship with a woman who relied to an advert he had placed in 2004 in the Costa Blanca News in Spain.
His advert is a tad misleading. He will not pay full expenses for a woman to travel around the world with him. Unfortunately. This is what happened to the last woman. She ran out of money and had to go back to work
FREE
This is what Jeff is looking for; he wants a woman who is free to travel with him to various destinations like he had planned with his wife. Someone with no connections, emotionally or otherwise, e.g. – no children, no pets, no elderly parents.
Yes he can cover some expenses but not all. Remember he is on a pension. You have to be financially independent, live the life of the rich and famous.
Remember this guy and his late wife had been working and preparing towards this stage of their life since forever.
He wants someone he is attracted too, she must have a regal air about her, be dignified, charming, caring and be prepared to be placed on a pedestal, worshipped and adored. Marriage for Jeff was the most important part of his life. He wants to be married, and he respects marriage.
APPLY
His future partner must also be attractive, it would help if there was some sexual attraction. However, Jeff said that is not so important. Yeah right, only women from the age of 30 to 45 need apply. Premenopausal ages.
After talking to Jeff, I am left with the impression that he is okay, he is a nice guy, and he has a sense of humour. I mean the guy let me interview him and take his photo for publication.
Being over 50 and overweight with dependants I don’t meet Jeff’s criteria. My only advice to him is that he place his advert in an Asian newspaper or try the Soviet Union.
