CHECK out Rarotonga International Airport at 4.05pm on Friday 22 December.
Air New Zealand has confirmed it will operate one of its new Boeing 777 aircraft (pictured) on a return pre-Christmas flight between Auckland and Rarotonga that day.
It will provide a sneak preview of the Boeing 777, which begins regular Auckland-Rarotonga-Auckland flights in April.
The airline’s Cook Islands manager, David Bridge, said the change from an Airbus A320 to a Boeing 777 aircraft would provide more than double the number of seats to/from Rarotonga that Friday.
He said: “We are committed to the Cook Islands market. Pre-Christmas is a peak travel period and the significant increase in capacity provided by the 777 will ensure we can meet customer demand as well as showcasing our new seating and in-flight entertainment.”
Details of the flight are as follows:
Friday 22 December:
Arrive Rarotonga 4.05pm
Depart Rarotonga 6.05pm
Seat configuration comparison:
A320 - 138 Economy / 8 Business
B777 – 269 Economy / 18 Premium Economy / 26 Business Premier.
