Stranded whale dies after fight for life

Nan Hauser and her rescue team tried
their best but to no avail. The whale died Friday afternoon.

The Beaked whale that was first found stranded on the beach in front of the Manuia Beach Hotel on Thursday morning, died at Avatiu harbour Friday afternoon in the presence of a large group of people who had tried valiantly to save it.
Internationally renowned Whale researcher, Nan Hauser and her team of experts who have been with the whale throughout its ordeal, will be performing a autopsy on the mammal to establish its cause of death and to see if it had any diseases.
Hauser and her team have already taken blood samples from the whale and have collected samples of fasces to try and establish what problems the whale had.
The samples will also be used for the DNA and identification analysis.
