Cook Islander receives prestigious award

Thirteen year old Cook Islander Aurand Tou has been awarded the prestigious St Johns College Meritious Service Award. The award acknowledges his outstanding academic achievements as well as his ability to be a student who encourages his fellow peers. The award is issued twice a year and the year nine student was the recipient of it. The son of Mau and Tony Tou, Aurand and his older brother Teariki are the only two Cook Islanders who attend the Hamilton based college.
