Extensive coverage of Olympics on CITV
CITV and Mangaia TV is to broadcast the Olympic Games from Beijing commencing August 6th, two days before the Opening ceremony with the soccer.
This has been made possible through TVNZ’s Pacific Service, TVNZ Sport, the International Olympic Committee, and the Oceania National Olympic Committees.
CITV and Mangaia TV are both grateful to the preceding organisations for making this service available. Both stations will receive 24 hour coverage for the entire duration of the games. CITV will be adjusting its program so that its viewers will see as much of the Games as possible. At this stage CITV anticipates its viewers would be able to see as much as 20 hours of the Games each day.
CITV will be broadcasting the Opening Ceremony of the South Pacific Arts Festival next week, as well as 1 hour of highlights direct from Pago Pago every day of the festival. The opening ceremony is expected to last 3 hours.
