World clean up day a success

FMG Enviroment Services Team - Deyna Marsh,
Mii Matamaki, Api Pakitoa, Keri Herman

Environment Services visited Avatea School, where students from each class stood up and gave a short speech on what World Clean Up Day meant to them. The environmental team was very impressed too see the children’s reaction to this topic, especially the young ones aged four upwards.
Keri Herman, from Environmental Services, said they will be producing a documentary on cleaning up our environment and this will be aired on TV later this year.
Herman said he plans to use some of the children’s speeches from Avatea School in the video to help get a clear message of environmental issues out to the community. Also Avarua School was spotted around Avarua town picking up litter from the side of the road.
