Christina promotes local look

Wedding planner Christina MacLennan can be found at the Punanga Nui Market most Saturdays selling her pareau tops. These are proving popular with both the locals and tourists.
A home dressmaker, MacLennan said that she started sewing the pareau tops for herself and she received many comments from her girlfriends and other people about them.
It was due to this interest in the funky summer wear that led her to produce them for sale.
The tops are multi-sized and comfortable to wear. Christina, who comes from the Tangiaiiau family in Ngatangiia, said she likes to promote the local look through using pareau fabric. Photo: Shona Pitt.
