Nikao firm to do
$700,000 fix up
LANDHOLDINGS Limited, of Nikao, has won the contract to refurbish Atiu School, the Cook Islands Investment Corporation and Ministry of Education announced.
The cost of the refurbishment is around $700,000, Investment Corporation property officer Liane Towgood said.
It involves:
• upgrading the existing buildings,
• electrical wiring,
• replacement of asbestos roofs and wall claddings,
• building new footpaths,
• upgrading water tanks,
• and other general works.
The work is expected to take 14 weeks.
Ms Towgood said the corporation and the contractor will make sure there is minimal disruption to schooling.
