Cooks storm way to world

Cook Islands came from behind to beat Papua New Guinea 22-21 in Australia Friday night. They qualified for the International Rugby Board Under-19 world championship in Northern Ireland.
A late try by replacement winger Terua Tuisovivi, converted by Terrence Glassie, lifted Cook Islands to the win at the Gold Coast Stadium.
Papua New Guinea jumped to a 21-15 second half lead with two converted tries.
For Cook Islands: Jason Tou, Anthony Mataroa, Terua Tuisovivi tries, Terrence Glassie two conversions, penalty. Halftime: Cook Islands 15-7.
Some team members return to Rarotonga as early as Sunday afternoon 21 January while others have decided to spend extra time in New Zealand and Australia.
The tournament, which will take place in Belfast from April 4-21, is split into two divisions of 12 teams each.
Cook Islands go into the second tier Division B competition with Romania, Tonga, Italy, Canada, Russia. Chile, Uruguay, Georgia, Zimbabwe, United States of America, and one more qualifier.
