Ellena to Fashion Show
Ellena Tavioni has done it again and is preparing to show her latest collection at New Zealand Fashion Week.
This is the third time that Tav’s Fashions have been featured, with the first time in 2005 in Style Pasifica, then in 2006 in her own show and now in 2008. It has been an exciting year for Ellena who has invited Japanese entrepreneur and buyer, Sekino to view her show on Friday 19 September (NZ time) and also expects to meet with other potential international buyers and the media. The designer will be using New Zealand models and New Zealand based Cook Islands models such as Melody Jonassen who has featured in a number of brochures for the company before.
Not only is there the excitement of the fashion show but Ellena has also opened her own retail outlet in Auckland to showcase her range of fashion and accessories from the Cook Islands and art and jewellery from around the Pacific. The designer says it is a lovely shop and is still being stocked ready for the official opening in early November incorporating an art exhibition. Her manageress is her cousin and long time associate, Vira Tavioni.
Incidentally, we have exclusive footage of the models previewing the winter range taken in the new outlet on 937A Mt Eden Road courtesy of our roving television reporter, Karley Hemopo. The television footage will be aired on CITV on Monday night and photos will featured in next week’s CI Herald.
