Fire
destroys Pue Home
An Elderly Penrhyn couple lost everything when their home behind the Are Mauku store in Pue was totally destroyed by a fierce fire on Friday afternoon.
Their son told the Times on Saturday morning that luckily no one was in the home at the time. His parents are currently in Penryhn. The blaze attracted a large crowd on Friday and traffic had to be diverted.
The fire was so strong the fire engines needed to refill their water storage tanks. Also lost in the blaze was a motorcycle parked beside the house. The cause of the blaze is unknown at this stage.
